I Can Run a Marathon… Now What?

Why This Book Was Written and Who It’s For
If you've ever crossed a marathon finish line and thought, "That was incredible… now what do I do with all of this fitness, motivation, and blisters?", you're not alone.
That exact question inspired the creation of my new book, I Can Run a Marathon… Now What? It's a practical, no-fluff guide for runners who want to navigate the sometimes confusing space between finishing a race and finding their next purpose.
Spoiler: The marathon isn’t the finish line. It’s the launchpad.
Whether you’ve just finished your first big city race or you’re a seasoned marathoner feeling a little lost after the medal ceremony, this book gives you the structure, tools, and mindset to go from “just finished” to “what’s next” without burning out, getting injured, or losing momentum.
Who This Book Is For
This isn’t some dry coaching manual or scientific study. It’s written for real runners who need real answers to real questions. This book is perfect for:
- First-time marathoners unsure of what to do now that the race is over
- PR chasers who need help setting their next goal
- Burned-out runners trying to rediscover joy and motivation
- Runners curious about trails or ultramarathons
- Coaches who want a tool for helping athletes transition after a big race
If you’ve stared at your shoes a week after race day and wondered, “So... am I just supposed to jog now?”, this one’s for you.
What’s Inside the Book
This book is like a conversation with a coach who gets it, someone who’s been there, guided others through it, and wants you to succeed without getting overwhelmed.
✅ Recovery That Feels Good
Forget generic advice. This chapter breaks down how to recover physically and mentally in a way that helps your body and brain feel ready to run again.
✅ Picking Your Next Goal
Should you go faster? Go longer? Go vertical on a trail? I’ll walk you through how to set your next target based on your lifestyle and personality, not just your watch stats.
✅ Smarter Training After a Marathon
Learn how to rebuild your training with intention and clarity. This section helps you avoid the all-too-common slump that hits runners after a big effort.
✅ Fuel, Strength, Sleep, Repeat
These are the pillars of long-term performance. I explain why each one matters and how to actually integrate them into your real life.
✅ Making Running a Lifestyle
Running doesn’t have to be a phase. This book helps you keep it fun, sustainable, and personal as you move forward.
Why I Wrote It
As a coach, I’ve helped hundreds of runners get to the start and finish lines of big races. But what I saw again and again was a huge gap afterward. People didn’t know what to do next. Some overtrained, some got hurt, and many just stopped running entirely.
This book is my answer to that. It’s a bridge between the buzz of race day and the long, meaningful journey of staying active, healthy, and mentally engaged.
It’s also the book I wish I had after my first marathon.

“I didn’t think I needed a post-marathon guide until I realized I had no idea what to do next. This gave me clarity.”

A Final Word
This book is not about perfection. It’s about momentum. You already did the hard part by training for and finishing a marathon. This is about making sure all that effort becomes part of something bigger, more sustainable, and maybe even more fun.
If you're still lacing up, still showing up, and still chasing what's next, this book is for you.
